Which areas of the face?
- Lower cheeks — softness beside the mouth
- Jowls — fat along the jawline
- Under the chin — see double chin liposuction
- Neck line — for a clean jaw-to-neck angle
Why less is more on the face
Facial fat is thin and it's also what keeps a face looking youthful. Over-removal can make cheeks hollow and age you. BBAE's surgeons remove fat conservatively with micro-cannulas, keeping the fat that supports your mid-face. If you have volume loss elsewhere — under the eyes or temples — fat grafting can be combined.
Who is a good candidate?
- Fat-related roundness in the lower face or jowls
- A jawline hidden by soft tissue
- Good skin elasticity (usually under about 50)
Liposuction reshapes; it is not a weight-loss treatment. If you plan to lose a lot of weight, or you have significant loose skin, we'll say so honestly after reviewing your photos.
The procedure
- Facial analysis We map fat pockets versus bone and muscle (masseter) width.
- Sleep anesthesia About 1 hour.
- Micro-cannulas Very fine cannulas through incisions behind the earlobe and under the chin.
- Face band A compression band, worn mostly at night after the first days.
Recovery and cost
Swelling and mild bruising settle over 1–2 weeks; the final definition shows at 1–3 months. Face liposuction typically costs ₩1.5–3.5 million (about $1,100–$2,600). See the face liposuction cost guide.
Risks and how we reduce them
Every liposuction carries risks, including bruising, swelling, temporary numbness, contour irregularity, fluid collection (seroma), infection and, rarely, blood clots. We reduce them with pre-operative health screening, sleep anesthesia monitored throughout, conservative safe-volume limits, round-tipped micro-cannulas, compression and structured aftercare. On the face we also watch for nerve irritation and asymmetry, which is why removal is precise and conservative. Read more: is liposuction safe in Korea?
Frequently asked questions
Can face liposuction fix a wide jaw?
Only if the width is fat. If it's the masseter muscle or bone, liposuction won't change it; we'll explain the difference.
Will my face look hollow later?
Not with conservative removal. We deliberately leave supportive fat.
When can I go out in public?
Most people are comfortable after about 3–7 days with light makeup.
How long should I stay in Seoul?
About 4–5 nights.
